Ethiopia sends a message to Egypt and Sudan after the success of the second filling of the Renaissance Dam

Today, Monday, Ethiopia sent a message to both Egypt and Sudan, after the success of the second filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

“We assure the downstream countries that no harm will befall them,” the Ethiopian Minister of Water and Irrigation, Seleshi Begley, said in statements to his country’s state television, after announcing the success of the second filling of the Renaissance Dam.

Bakli added that “the flow of water to the two downstream countries will continue regularly through the two holes in the Renaissance Dam to pass the water.”

Bakli said, “The process of the second filling of the Renaissance Dam was completed successfully, and water flowed from the top of the dam’s barrier.”

“This achievement represents Ethiopia’s success and its ability to generate power through two turbines,” he added.

He pointed out that “to reach this stage, efforts have been made by everyone. In the next stage, we will work to generate energy from the Renaissance Dam through the two turbines in the dam.”
