Sudan notifies Russia to stop the construction of the Flamingo naval base in Port Sudan

Military sources said that the country’s high command yesterday suspended the completion of the construction of the Russian Flamingo military base in Port Sudan, in the Red Sea state.

They revealed that the authorities asked the commander of the Red Sea Military Region to stop the Russian entry to the base and obtain the old entry permits, as well as to stop any new entry from the Russian side, and confirmed that the commander of the Russian force presently present has been informed that the ratification of the agreement will only take place through ratification from the Legislative Council or whoever represents it (the Sovereignty Council and the Council of Ministers).

The (Al-Hadath channel) had previously revealed information about the Russian presence at the Flamingo military base with nuclear capabilities and what was contained in the agreement that was made during the era of ousted President Omar Al-Bashir, in 2017.
