The African Union rejects the extension and calls on the Somali leadership to return to negotiation
Mogadishu | Times Of Sudan
The Peace and Security Council of the African Union condemned the decision approved by the Somali People’s Assembly on April 12 extending his mandate and that of the president for two years, describing the move as “unilateral” and not conducive to peace and stability in Somalia.
In a statement released after an online meeting on Thursday, the board said it was deeply concerned about the worrying developments stemming from the extension.
