“Dar Al Ber” launches a humanitarian relief campaign for Somalia

“Dar Al Ber” Association launched a large-scale humanitarian relief campaign for Somalia, under the title (Somalia… We Are One), aimed at extending aid and charity and providing urgent aid to the brotherly Somali people, in the face of the current drought situation in their country.

“Dar Al Ber” announced that the urgent relief campaign will continue for two weeks, starting last Tuesday, and aims to collect donations and support for the benefit of the afflicted of the Somali people, with a total value of up to 10 million dirhams, from benefactors, philanthropists, public and private institutions, under the supervision and follow-up of the Affairs and Labor Department charity in Dubai.

According to its website, the United Nations confirmed that the drought threatens to displace 1.4 million Somalis, with the repercussions of the drought expected to affect them, during the next six months.

Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Association, explained that the expanded humanitarian campaign consists of main sections and aid, which are providing food baskets to the needy there, providing safe drinking water, and implementing a number of well-drilling projects in the affected areas.

Al Muhairi stressed that the expanded humanitarian campaign constitutes a continuation and enhancement of the UAE policy and its continuous efforts to help the Somali people, and it falls under the historic relationship binding the two countries, and it’s an application of Islamic teachings, and the vision of Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him, in extending the white hands of the peoples of the world and helping them to overcome their natural calamities and their difficult living and material conditions.
