Attorney General meets the delegation of the International Criminal Court

Attorney General Maulana Taj Al-Sir Ali Al-Habr, in his office at the Public Prosecution office, met today with the delegation of the International Criminal Court visiting the country. The meeting dealt with the case of the accused Ali Muhammad Ali Hamid, known as “Kushayb”.

The meeting dealt with the progress of the case’s procedures, for which a session was scheduled for next May, when the Attorney General was assured of the progress of its procedures to achieve justice.

The Sudanese government had signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Criminal Court in the case of accused Kushayb.

It is noteworthy that the delegation of the International Criminal Court had met with the Attorney General and the Commission of Inquiry and Inquiry into the events in Darfur, and the Attorney General had issued, on November 3, 2019 CE, an arrest warrant for the aforementioned accused and others in connection with the events that took place in Darfur from 2003 AD until 2010 AD. Reports are for the first time by order of the Attorney General and the formation of a committee to open all Darfur files.

In addition, the peace agreement had provided for the appearance of the accused, against whom arrest warrants were issued, before the International Criminal Court.
