Candidate Gabriel Ibrahim Abdali meets the President of Jubaland State

The presidential candidate, Gabriel Ibrahim Abdali, met yesterday, Saturday, in Mogadishu, the President of Jubaland State in southern Somalia, Ahmed Muhammad Islam “Madoubi”.

The two officials discussed the latest developments in Somalia and ways to ensure free and fair elections in the country and to preserve the interests and future of the Somali people.

“Political stakeholders have an important role to play in the election process, as well as the upcoming conference to be held in Mogadishu. I discussed this matter with Gabriel Ibrahim, one of the candidates for the presidential elections,” Madoubi said in a statement.

Abdali, for his part, urged the President of Jubaland State to offer concession and victory in the interest of the Somali people.

The candidate, Gabriel Ibrahim, is a Somali expert who has worked for more than 27 years in Somali reconciliation and defusing conflicts and problems between Somali tribes.

Ibrahim, who is an activist in civil society organizations and an expert in building good governance and achieving reconciliation in Mogadishu, began meetings with politicians aspiring to rule as well as the leadership of the outgoing federal government.
