The arrival of the first Russian warship to a Sudanese port

Russia’s Interfax news agency reported on Sunday, citing a statement from the Russian fleet, that the frigate Admiral Grigorovich has arrived at a Sudanese port where Russia intends to set up a naval base.

The statement stated, according to Interfax, that this is the first warship to enter Port Sudan.

Russian President Vladimir Putin approved in November the establishment of a Russian naval base in Sudan that could receive nuclear powered ships.
